At the Memorial mausoleum in Menen, June 12th a memorial service honored the victims of World War II, was held by representatives of the Flemish city of Menen and the Committee for the Remembrance of Political Prisoners and victims of the war, in the presence of the representatives of the Diplomatic Community. Ceremony followed the passing of the torch from the German camp in Flossenburg and laying wreaths at the monument dedicated to the victims of World War II in Belgium. 296 Serbian nationality prisoners had been detained in Flossenburg during the Second World War, of which 39 died in the camp.
