Documentary film „Unplugged“ of the Serbian director Mladen Kovačević will be screened within the framework of the avant-premiere of the Millenium International Documentary Film Fesitval in Brussels, 31st March 2014 at 18:30 at the centre CIVA (address below).
“Unplugged” is an existential allegory about blowing into leaves, rattling between the most primitive of instruments and the most universal escapism of music. Meet Josip, amateur inventor set out to decode the artistry of leaf-playing, and the last leaf-players – Vera, ex private detective, and Pera, the know-it-all peasant – in the autumns of their lives, still going for the verdant leaves. Music has rarely been so offbeat.
Studied film in Belgrade, at LIFS in London, and CTFTVS and AFDA in South Africa (for a feature length student film "Shroud", earned a "Student of the year" award). His work includs the following films: documentary feature “Unplugged”, an offbeat architectural documentary “Palace”, a documentary about the family of carnival stunt bikers “The Wall of Death, and All That” etc.
