During the consultations, both sides expressed their mutual satisfaction with the important anniversary marked in 2026—namely, the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states. A shared readiness was expressed to realize inter-state visits and to further intensify the political dialogue at the high and highest levels.

The relations and cooperation between the two countries were assessed as stable and well‑developed, with clear potential for further enhancement. Particular emphasis was placed on the significant cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, justice, and internal affairs.

A comprehensive and detailed exchange of views was held on all relevant issues concerning the process of the European integration of the Republic of Serbia and the European Union’s enlargement policy.

Special attention was devoted to the Belgrade–Pristina Dialogue. The Serbian side pointed to numerous cases of human rights violations, as well as the extremely difficult situation of the Serbian and other non‑Albanian communities in Kosovo and Metohija, the harmful effects of Pristina’s unilateral actions, and the necessity of returning to dialogue as the only mechanism for achieving sustainable solutions.

Both sides noted the close cooperation within international organizations, particularly with regard to candidacies. The importance of multilateralism was underscored, especially in light of the current complex geopolitical situation in the world.

The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia also included Acting Assistant Minister for the European Union Miloš Todorović, Deputy Assistant Minister for Multilateral Cooperation Ksenija Milenković, Head of the Europe Department Milena Mitić, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Belgium Aleksandar Tasić.
