Commemoration of the liberation of Liege in World War II

Upon the invitation of the Governor of the Province of Liege and the Mayor of Liege, Ambassador Marina Jovićević attended the celebration of the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Liege and the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II on September 8.

The ceremony was held at the national place of suffering erected in honor of the persons who were killed or shot in Liege and the region of Liege in World War II, to whom 415 crosses were placed. Most of them were Belgians, but among the victims were Algerians, Americans, Spaniards, French, Italians, Luxembourgers, Dutch, Poles, Russians and Serbs.

On behalf of the Embassy of Serbia, Ambassador Jovićević laid a wreath at the monument to the victims.
