The exhibition "Ivo Andric - between writer and diplomats" opened in Bruges

 

On Friday, April 20, 2018, at the European College in Bruges, an exhibition "Ivo Andric-between writer and diplomats" was opened.

This exhibition, which was visited by many Diplomatic and Consular representativs of The Republicof Serbia in the world, and in November 2017, in cooperation with Mission of Republic of Serbia to the EU and the Regional Office of the Autonomous Province of Friuli Venezia Giulia, presented to representatives of EU institutions in Brussels, at the initiative of the Embassy of The Republic of Serbia and with the consent of the Italian side, began its presentation in a different environment. In addition, the exhibition was hosted at the University of Ghent, and it is planned that in the next month, the exhibition will be hosted in Antwerp, in cooperation with the University there. The Embassy's goal is to see the exhibition and expand the round table which is diplomatic, and this is the focus of this time at faculties of the faculty in Belgium.

The author of the exhibition is Ms. Tatjana Koricanac, Director of the Museum of the City of Belgrade and the curator of the Museum of Ivo Andric.

The exhibition in Bruges, set up within the panel discussion on EU Strategic Extensions - Challenges and Prospects, was opened by Marina Jovićević, Ambassador R. Serbia in Belgium, who presented the participants to I. Andrić and in other ways from the literary, as a diplomat. The Ambassador pointed out that Ivo Andrić was the best representative of what Europe is - because he lived and worked throughout Europe, in a challenging period between the two world wars, and in the best way he presented his multi-confessional and multiethnic context in our region.

Following the opening of the exhibition, a panel discussion on the challenges on the road to the EU was held, attended by Tanja Miščević, head of the EU Accession Negotiating Team for Serbia. Debates and the opening of the exhibition were attended by professors and students from this prestigious college. The exhibition and panel discussions were organized in cooperation between the former and present students of the Republic of Serbia at the European College in Bruges. After the opening of the exhibition and the debate, the present were served by Serbian wines and brandy (rakija) as well as pie (pita), organized by the Republic of Serbia.
