15/2/2016 Dressing of the statue of Manneken Pis in Serbian National Costume

 

Within the framework of the celebrations of the Serbian National Day, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the City of Brussels and the Order of Friends of the Manneken Pis, organized jubilee of the dressing of Manneken Pis in the Serbian national costume on 15 of February.

The ceremony of the donation of the costume to the Brussels City Museum and the first dressing of the statue in Šajkača (traditional Serbian hat) and Opanci (traditional Serbian shoes), was launched in 2011. The costume is the creation of the „Zаnаtskа rаdionicа zа izrаdu nаrodnih nošnji i opаnаkа – KIRI“ from Belgrade.

Many of guests and tourists had opportunity to try special Serbian bread-pogača and strong spirit-sljivovica.
