11/24/2013 Laying wreaths for Armistice Day in the First World War

Serbian ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium Vesna Arsić laid wreaths at the Serbian monument in the Allied cemetery Robermont and at the Allied monument in Liège.

Serbian army alongside its Allies led the liberation war in which the country, in proportion to its size, had the highest losses (25% of the total population and 38% of male age 15-65) compared to other countries in both camps.

A similar fate (occupation, enormous civilian casualties, fierce battles on the national territory during the entire duration of the war) is associated with both Belgium and Serbia being the main victims of the horrors of war 1914 – 1918.
