06/10/2014 Visit to Ypres/Yser and the “Flanders’ Field Museum”

Ambassador Vesna Arsić paid a visit to the city of Ypres, during which she met with the Bourgmestre Mr. Jan Durnez, Mr. Shepenom Verschoore in charge of the WWI commemoration and their associates.

She exchanged with her interlocutors some views on the anniversary and the cooperation that could be organized in this regard (thematic exhibition and a documentary about the participation of Serbia in the First World War etc.).

After the meeting, there was an organized tour of the museum "Flanders' Fields", which is the most visited museum in Belgium (annual visit of 300 to 350 thousand people ), which shows in a very modern way the battles of Ypres and the conflict in Belgium, with a focus on individuals and their testimonies as well as the terrain that made its appearance during the war.
