On Thursday 8th May 2014, Flanders Investment and Trade and Wallonia Export Investment, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, organised a semminar „EU Strategy for the Daunbe Region: business opportunities in Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Serbia“.

On the one hand, the purpose of the semminar was to inform Belgian companies on the structure and opportunities provided by the EU strategy for the Danube, on the other hand its goal was to promote investment and business opportunties in the four countries. Speakers on the semminar were: Ambassadors of the four countries, representatives of Flanders Investment and Trade and Wallonia Export Investment, representatives of the governments of four countries in charge of the Danube strategy, as well as the Chairman of the Belgian-Serbian Business Association Hugo Van Veghel. His speech, together with the presentation of Sanja Knežević, from the European Integration Office of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, caused great interest amongst the audience to participate in the projects of the Danube strategy in Serbia as well as doing business with the country in general.
